this movie was at its best when Murray and Chase were just left to ramble, especially the one scene they got together

Interesting less as a film and more as a document of a moment in this style of comedy. Scenes cobbled together randomly, more or less a set of skits. Many fell flat and I would have just cut them, but I figure it’s a crowd-pleaser so at the time it was probably all hip/sexy. In both form and content, the film was fairly clear that everyone was doing a shit-ton of coke throughout the production. I loved how Chase’s characteristic sillily brutal honesty played off Murray’s characteristic reconciliation to his lowly lot in life — one was way on, the other way off, but both bonkers.
