Chasing Ice

largest ever calving of ice from a glacier was captured as part of the making of this film – a couple guys camped out and watched a glacier for 3 weeks until an amount many times the size of Manhattan broke off. absolutely incredible to watch.

I may be a little biased on this one since my friend Jeff Orlowski from filmmaking club back at school directed it. But I was taken aback by the images and story he put together here. Beautiful and chilling, this film has inspired me both artistically and activistically. Pacing and trajectory are expert. A connection is drawn between the human interest thread and the thread about humanity as a whole, but it is not heavy-handed. Congratulations, Jeff, this is incredible. I wish I could have been there at that insane calving.
