Shame

broken crosswalk

This movie was well shot, well acted, well cast, well cut, well paced, well scored, well crafted all around. I just don’t know what the point was. Why am I supposed to care that this guy is having trouble making emotional connections? How did he get that way? Does he not have any hope? What’s the big deal — your sister walked in on you jacking off, then you’re so desperate to have sex that you let a man suck your penis even though you’re not gay? I still want to see McQueen and Fassbender’s other work but I’m not psyched right off the bat.
