why?

why?

I found this movie tedious. There was no reason I can find that it shouldn’t have been compressed into an episode of the Twilight Zone. The moment which pissed me off the most was when the hippy lady was revealed to be an employee rather than a fellow customer. What’s the point of that? I thought it would be so much more crushing if she shared his pathetic story. There may be some fun to be had in thinking the plot through on an allegorical level, but I’m not sufficiently inspired to do so.
