An Autumn Afternoon

Rating: Good.

Typical Ozu. In this one, Ryu avoids sucking his daughter into old maid hood taking care of him as a widower. Excellent supporting storylines and performances, plus it ends strong with a brutal yet beautiful non-resolution. Ozu’s last, and one of my favorites so far.
