Film Micrœview #96: Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Wolf of Wall Street

Rating: Shrug.

Keeping up my streak of catching up on recent mainstream America.

This movie was well-made. It was not a critique of capitalism, sexism, or any of the vices it portrays. It is simply a black, vulgar comedy. Personally, I was not entertained, except for the Taxi Driver reference, and perhaps the Lemmon spinach sequence. The subway shot was smart too. Basically I just didn’t need 3 hours of this.
