Film Micrœview #101: Floating Weeds (1998)

Floating Weeds Rating: Good. I’ve never seen a bad Ozu movie. This was certainly the darkest and most dramatic. If only because it’s about a drama troupe. Great catharsis at the end. Some really shitty things get done to each other. I really hope it works out for everyone after the movie ends, I really really do.

Also, a nice trick when a raining scene surprise bridges to it raining the next day, and later in the film a change in time is indicated as far as I can tell only by a costume change.
