Film Micrœview #209: The Steamroller and the Violin (1960)

Rating: Good.

You can already see signs of Tarkovsky’s mature style here: the water/reflections/glare, apples, dreams. Some extraneous grad school flourishes I suppose though – too much camera movement, too many camera tricks. But overall the story was sweet, unpredictable, and solid.
