Film Micrœview #226: L’Argent (1983)

Rating: Dr. Pepper.

All money is counterfeit.

Bresson’s rhythmic use of sound stretched here to envelop us in urbanity. Open vs. closed doors. Constant passing of cars, immersed in a network of disconnected moments. One little annoyance bubbles through the ill systemic nature to destroy lives. The same hands which pluck tasty plants to feed exchange bills and bring down a bloody axe.
