Dream 423: Mexican Australia

Someone’s telling me about how more and more Mexicans leaving Mexico are coming to Australia rather than the United States due to increasingly welcoming immigration policies there. I inform them that in fact there are has been a huge number of Mexicans in Australia historically. I speak to the cultural affinity: similar desert geography and cool ancient indigenous peoples. I point to the many districts of Sydney with Spanish names such as San Jose.

I’m taking a bus through Sydney at dusk, though it looks quite a bit more like the ghost town Mexico City in which I encountered President Obama and the tallest building in the world: The Vice tower, crowned by an octopus lichen.
